Painted by Rain is my debut artbook. Painted by Rain’s photography, poetry and accordion folded construction create a multifaceted experience that is strikingly profound. It is deeply personal - diving into my struggles with addiction, miscarriage, parenting, and blocked creativity. However personal, these struggles are not mine alone. Painted by Rain offers connection, inspiration and peace.
This artbook is 7” by 7” when folded, it unfolds to 13 1/2 feet long when fully open. The viewer can turn the pages like a normal book, or unfold it to see the whole fluid piece. Painted by Rain was printed and hand constructed in Connecticut and created in collaboration with design synergist Monica Austin. It’s first press is 100 copies.
